Feast of the almond bloom
In February the bloom of the almonds is celibrated in Tafraout by the Ammel (population group). This feast should give the people a produceful harvest.

Roses- Moussem
After the harvest of the roses a colorful folclore spectacle in  El-Kaala N'Gouma takes place from the middle until the end of may. 

Moussem of Cheikh Sidi Mohammed Laghdaf
In Tan-Tan  at the end of May- beginning of June- the inhabitants of the Sahara, f.e. The Tuareg, comee to Marabout the saint. Here you have the unique opportunity to take a look of the proud sons of the desert.

Festival of the spiritual and holy Music of the World (Festival des Musiques Sacrées du Monde)
This festival takes place in may at Fès. This pretentious music week is an expression of the politic of religious tolerance leaded by King Hassans II. Chorus, orchestra, dancing groups and artist from all over the world - all together members of the islamic, of the jewish or the christ church - animate the andalusish garden of the palace of Batha in Fès-El-Bali and the Place Bab Makina in Fès-El-Jedid. Feast of candles
The date for the feast of candles in Salé is conformed to the muslim calendar and it is celibrated on eve before El Mouloud. The most important members of the artisan association past by in a procession carrying candles. This candles are exposed at the Marabout of Sidi Abdallah ben Hassoun, the saint of the town of Salé. The whole town celebrate after the procession.

Moussem of  Moulay Abdallah
In August the fisherman village Moulay Abdállah at the south of  El Jaddida is scene of one of the most magnificent Moussems of Morocco. Temperful riding games, fantasias, where the riders show in a wild gallop their impressfull skill are the zenith of the pilgrimage to  Zaouia th saint.

Moussem des Moulay Idriss
After the pilgrimage to Mekka, the most important pilgrimage of the musulmans of Morocco is the journey to Moulay Idriss during this  Moussem. This Moussem takes place at three following week-ends betweeen mid and end of september. The Baraka of the saint is so large, that seven pilgrimages to Moulay Idriss can remplace the  Hadj to Mekka - so the popular tradition. During the days of the feast Non- Musulmans are not welcome.

Mariage- Moussem of Aït Haddidou (Moussem des Fiançailles)
At Friday, Saturday, Sunday of the second or third week of September thousand of pilgrims come together on a 2000m high  plateau between the middle and the high mountains of atlas, the place to settle down for Aït-Hadidou-Berber. The secene is the tomb of their saints at the opportunity of the years feas in honour of the saints. For the moroccan people the journey to Imilchil is a pilgrimerage. This feast serves also to get married. The young Aït Hadidou use the meetings to find a partner. Beside young girls, which are married by their parents, a lot of women find a husband. Because of their good position in their tribe,  they are allowed to choose alone their futur husband.  Multiple mariages are not rare.

Folclore Feast of Marrakech
This festival takes place in June normally. It attracts the inhabitants of all the region of Morocco, that's why  you can admire a variegated mixture of traditional dresses in Marrakech.

Gnaoua - Festival in Essaouira
The Gnaoua - Festival in Essaouira attire visiters from all over the world. It takes place in Mid June at the feast place in front of the Bab Sbaa. In that time you can not recognize Essaouira- the whole town is infected by the Gnaoua - Fever. Hotel rooms are already reserved months. Each free room in private apartments will be rent for a high price.

Ramadan
The Lent Ramadan lasts 30 days. During the Lent it is not allowed neither to drink, to eat, to smoke nor to have any sexual contacts from sun-rise to sun-set.
Please respect the Lent and try to renounce of drinking, eating and smoking in public.
During Ramadan times passes in another rythm. At day a lot of shops are closed while the muslims staied long in the nights.
The opening times of the adminstrations are normally from 9.00 to 14.00 Uhr. The reastaurants open mostly just in the evening. At soon as the sun sets, the sirens resound. This is the end of the Lent for this day and the dinner can begin.....
Beacause of the Ramadan it is more dangeraous than usual to drive, take attention and count with mistakes at every time from the others.

Aid Es-Seg Hir
The end of the Lent  Ramadan is annonced with 10 cannon shots and a feast of sacrifice.

Aid El-Kebir
The end of the pilgrimerage month is celebrated with a great feast of sacrificen called Aid El-Kebir. Each family, which is able to spend it, sacrifices at less one mutton. the poor people which need it, are given a part of this mutton.
For the european people is a strange feast. The mutton are buied one week  before and live in town on the roofs or in the apartments until the feast Aid El-Kebir! In this week you can buy everywhere muttons. You can see often muttons transported on the car roofs, in the trunk, busses of the puplic transport or even on the shoulders through the Souk to the families. The morning of Aid El-Kebir the butchers a very busy. One week the families eat muttons in every variation. Of cours the butcheries are closed during this week.

Rass El-Ain
Rass El-Ain is the New Years Day of the musulmanes.

Achoura
This is the most important feast of the Schiites. For the Sunnite it is not a traditional feast.
Achoura rembers at the death of the  martyrdrom Hussein, during the quarrel to the successsion of the prohpete.
This feast is like Christmas for the children: it is an occassion to get gifts. (28.4.)

El Mouloud
El Mouloud is the birthday of the prohpete. It is the occassion for a familiy feast for two days.
