Morocco: General information

Morocco is placed on the west of North Africa. The sea constructs a natural boundary in the north and the west, the  mountain and the desert constructs a boundary to the neighbour Algeria in the south and the east. 

Morocco is a country full of contrasts: mighty mountains and wide beaches changes with endless deserts: there are places to make winter-sport like in Mid-Europe, but also fruitful oases and fields where wine is cultivated. The towns, historical constructed, with a oriental flair give Morocco a special charm. The capital town is Rabat. Further important towns are Casablanca, Marrakech and Fés f. e.

The Arabic name of Morocco is« al- Mamlakah al- Maghrebija »  that only means « Kingdom of Morocco ». « Maghreb » means literally « the place, where the sun sets », the West. This site can not describe everything of Morocco. It is just possible to describe a part of the beauty of Morocco, of its culture, its traditions and its history.
So, the intention of this site is to get a first impression. But to come to know the beauty to see a sun-set in a oases of the desert Sahara or to see the fresh green fields in de Atlas mountain you have to travel to Morocco.
