Entry/ Embassies in Morocco

Formalities (Entry)

Visa requirements can be changed. So inform at the Moroccan Embassy in your country for the actual requirements. You can also get information at the Tourist Offices abroad or at your travel agency.

Travellers of West-Europe only need a identical card. we recommend nevertheless to take your passport with you. It should be carried with you always, because you will need it every time you check in a new hotel. To enter Morocco your passport or your identical card must be valid for six months from the date of entry. The British visitors passport is not accepted in Morocco.

If you are older than 16 years you have to travel with your own passport. Children under 15 years must have their photos attached to their parents' passport, if they haven't their own. We recommend nevertheless that they are mentioned in the passport of their parents to avoid problems.

Travellers of the European states do not need a visa. If they enter Morocco (at the airport or after arriving with the ferry) they have to fill  a entrance card, and they obtain automatically a tourist visa. With this tourist visa they are allowed to stay 90days in Morocco. After this period you have to leave Morocco.

For Ceuta and Melilla: these are two enclaves of the Spanish Territory. if you have to require a visa to enter Spain, you also have to require a visa to enter these enclaves. Please inform you at the Moroccan Embassy.

If you want to stay more than 3 month in Morocco, it is possible to apply for an extension or to demand "la carte de resident (green card). It is difficult to get this card. The recommendation to re-enter (leave Morocco for a few-days and to re-enter) is often not practicable and sometimes you do not get the permission to re-enter. To get the extension for some month is easier, but think at it at time.

Travelling with the car

You need the green Assurance card with the notice : valuables for Morocco. You obtain when your enter with your car the first time of this year, the permission for six month. Your own permission is just available for three months. If  you want to stay  longer,  take care for the extension at time.
